CARM – Caring Altogether On Romney Marsh

I am the Executive Director of CARM, a charity supporting isolated older people across rural Ashford, Romney Marsh and Folkestone & Hythe areas. We provide places for people to meet in their own villages, befriending services both face-to-face and over the telephone, and reminiscence programmes in care facilities amongst other things.

CARM isn’t funded by the NHS or statutory services so we rely on the generosity of others who recognise that old age is a privilege that we would all wish to be able to enjoy. Opportunities are available for sponsorship and donations (not just money!), and also for volunteering.

When not at CARM I can be found working as Head of Finance and Operations at Age UK Lambeth, chairing the trustee board at the SWAN Centre in Ashford, or sewing and embroidering for my small bespoke creations business, Louvain Atelier.

I have been rumoured to sleep occasionally as well.
